Life Of A CU student
Ever wondered what it’s like being a Covenant University student? Okay maybe you have, maybe you haven’t. Most people even address CU as a glorified secondary school. Well, let me just give you an insight into the life of a CU student.
Covenant University is one of the most beautiful places i have been to. There are lots of beautiful trees and plants. I love going for evening walks just so I can enjoy the view complemented with the evening breeze. It’s really amazing and it helps a lot if you had a really stressful day
Well, from these pictures, it’s clear that CU is indeed beautiful. So let’s go deeper into the lives of CU students. In CU, we need at least 75% of class attendance to qualify to write exams. Yes, we sign attendance in every class. Also, we have compulsory service and non-compulsory service. The compulsory ones are Sunday Chapel Service and Thursday Chapel service. I can’t even think of stabbing a service. Want to know why?
Well, if you miss a Sunday or Thursday service, it suppresses your class attendance for one whole week. Yeah, there’s also roll call. So we do roll call every night, just so that the management can be sure that each student was present in school each night. Fortunately, it’s not a stressful process because we use a biometric device for it. Just like Sunday and Thursday service, missing roll call for one night suppresses a week of class attendance. For the Non-compulsory service, we have Wednesday communion service, WHITE etc.
We also have other compulsory programs but I don’t know if they have penalties. Programs like Pre-exam clinic, Welcome assembly, Departure service and Inaugural Lecture-This is compulsory for a specific college, depending on the topic of the lecture)
Has any CU student ever told you about White bus? It’s actually just a vehicle (a white mini-bus) that MSS drives around in. MSS is an abbreviation for Covenant University’s Monitoring and Surveillance Security. It’s a group of people responsible for making sure students are compliant or something like that. Like if you’re wearing something that’s not compliant according to the school’s handbook, They’ll just cease it and/or give you an offense form. From what I heard sha, if you get three offense forms, you’ll be sent on suspension.
So students just prefer to avoid MSS, even if they are compliant, cause anything can happen. You may think your compliant but an MSS official could say your not (it has happened to me before. The MSS official ceased my shirt). So it’s best to just avoid them. Let me use an instance. Let’s say in the evening, when people are just hanging around outside cafeteria and the MSS bus just drives and parks outside the cafeteria. Everyone literally disappears from there cause no one wants to risk anything.
There’s a lot more that goes on in Covenant University, but me just stop here for now. Thanks for viewing this post.
